Enjoy these delicious hearty backyard burgers, a great flavor-filled burger to grill this season!
Do you have big plans for the 4th of July? This year, we are going camping. I’m going to admit I’m a little nervous about this upcoming weekend. This will be the first time that I’ve actually stayed in a tent.
Let’s just say I like ‘glamping’ over ‘camping’ and usually we are in a camper or a cabin. This time though we are roughing it.
Of course, I guess I can’t even say roughing it because my husband already has plans to hook up an air conditioning unit in our tent. Is that even normal?
I guess at this point I don’t care because here in Oklahoma the heat index is well into the 110’s, and I need my air conditioner!
So, we will see how this weekend turns out. I’m sure for the majority of it we will be cruising around the lake, but we do need one more thing to plan out our week and that’s food.
The food plays a big roll in our weekend, between 9 of us, we have to strategically plan out meals. That way we can get to the store before we head out to the lake and have everything we need.
We decided to test out a new to us burger recipe with these Hearty Backyard Burgers over the weekend and they turned out to be a showstopper!
They are both juicy and delicious. They are actually made with beer, you can use nonalcoholic too. Of course, for us that are gluten-free, that also means a gluten-free beer too.
The beer gives it such a kick of flavor and adds a lot of juice to the burger too. These burgers made for a great way to celebrate the weekend and summertime.
I paired our burgers with homemade potato chips that I had made earlier. I’ll be sharing that recipe soon too. We like to serve them though at the lake with grilled veggies such as corn on the cob or potatoes.
One thing that we love about grilling foods when we are out at the lake is we can really stop just about anywhere and grill them even on the beach. It’s always good to travel with a husband that can easily start a campfire.
I tried my hand at that last year and let’s just say if I was a boy scout I would have failed miserably.
My friend and I tried to start a campfire for at least an hour. Then our husband’s came by and in all of 5 seconds had it started. How does that happen? Are they just naturally born with this talent? I can’t figure it out.
Enjoy these Hearty Backyard Burgers!
