How can you use Caramel Sauce?
Using Caramel Sauce in recipes can be endless, but here are a few of my favorite ways to use caramel sauce. My personal favorite happens to be with coffee. This sauce can be used to make Salted Caramel Mochas, Lattes, Hot Chocolate, and don’t forget…CARAMEL APPLES! This is perfect for dipping slices of apples in, from Granny Smith to Gala Apples, choose your favorite.
Tips for Making Homemade Caramel Sauce:
- Use HEAVY Whipping Cream, do not use just ‘heavy cream’, be sure to purchase whipping cream as this will give the correct consistency.
- Stir constantly as you make it to prevent burning.
- Store in an airtight mason jar or container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Storage Tips for Dessert Toppings:
Once the sauce is cooked, it can be stored in an airtight container. We like to use these mason jars with a tightly sealed lid. This can then be reheated in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time to make it pourable.
This topping normally lasts up to 2 weeks in the fridge with an airtight container.
Once you try this Homemade Caramel Sauce, store-bought sauce will never be the same. It’s rich, buttery, and just the right consistency. This is a staple as we head into the fall season.
If you enjoy this simple sauce recipe, be sure to check out these other sauces as well. Each one is uniquely wonderful, served with desserts, coffee, or on an ice cream charcuterie board.
