  • Completely no-bake!
  • Easy to make gluten-free.
  • Perfect for Christmas candy trays, parties, or gifting.
  • Uses simple pantry ingredients.
  • Can be made days in advance.

Ingredients for No-Bake Truffles:

  • Gluten-Free Oreos
  • Cream Cheese
  • Creamy Peanut Butter
  • Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bars or Baking Chocolate Bars
  • Sprinkles

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Place the cookies in a food processor and process until they are a crumb consistency.
  2. Add in the cream cheese and peanut butter, and continue pulsing in the food processor until well combined.
  3. Let this mixture sit in the fridge for about 30 minutes to chill.
  4. Once ready to make the truffles, line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Using a microwave-safe bowl, place the chocolate bars in the bowl and melt for 30 seconds, stir, and continue 30 seconds at a time until fully melted. This may need to be remelted during the process again.
  6. Roll part of the cookie mixture into tablespoon-sized balls or use a cookie scoop, then dip them well in the chocolate. It’s best to use two forks to toss these in the chocolate, then remove and let the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl. This is a messy process.

  8. Continue until all are made, and remelt the chocolate if needed. It will typically stay melted for at least 6 truffles and will need to be warmed up again.
  9. Let them stand for about 15 minutes to fully harden, or place them in the fridge to fully harden.
  10. Serve.

How do you make truffles gluten-free?

The only ingredient needed to make these gluten-free is Gluten-Free Oreos or Gluten-Free Chocolate Cream Filled Cookies. The Oreo brand makes some great gluten-free options now, so you can actually do a few different ones, like Vanilla or Chocolate. These are found at almost every Walmart and grocery store.

Always double-check all ingredients before using to be certain they are gluten-free and that there is no cross-contamination.

Tips for Making Gluten-Free Truffles:

  • Use a food processor for the best truffles.
  • Use softened cream cheese for smoother mixing.
  • Use a fork or dipping tool for clean chocolate coating.
  • Add toppings last while the chocolate is still wet or melted so it adheres.
  • Remember, these are very messy, so being prepared in advance for dipping makes it a much cleaner and easier way to make truffles.
  • Semi-Sweet Chocolate is the best option for these.
  • Using a cookie scoop to roll the mixture into a tablespoonful size and then coating it with chocolate is going to be your best option. Use either two forks to coat or a dipping tool. Then, immediately place on a parchment-lined cookie sheet to harden.

We added gold and silver to these for a New Year’s Eve twist to these No-Bake Truffles; they turned out to be a perfect dessert treat option!

Remember that the chocolate may need to be reheated several times during this process. Usually, it’s going to be after about every 6 truffles, the chocolate will need to be melted again. It’s best to heat the chocolate a little bit at a time and then stir and repeat.

Optional Add-Ins:

Some other variations that can be done are:

  • White Chocolate (Use white chocolate instead of semi-sweet Chocolate or swirl white chocolate over the truffles.)
  • Orange Peels (Use orange zest to add flavor to the recipe or garnish with orange peels.)
  • Candy Canes (Crush candy canes and sprinkle on top or add to the mixture. This is best done with peppermint candy canes.)

How do you store Peanut Butter Oreo Truffles?

The truffles can be wrapped in plastic wrap once fully hardened or placed in an airtight container at room temperature. For best results, though, store them in the fridge. They are best served within a week of making.

If you prefer to freeze them, store them in a freezer-safe storage bag in the freezer for up to 2 months.

These bite-sized, easy-to-serve, gluten-free truffles with Oreos are the best option for any party or dessert tray. Not only are they quick to make, but fun for the kids to help too!
