Everyone loves a good guacamole, right? Our simple guacamole dip is ALWAYS a crowd-pleaser, so let’s bring it up a notch to create this delicious Spicy Guacamole Dip. This guacamole adds in peppers which will really elevate the flavor and bring a new level of spice to the dip too. It pairs wonderfully with creamy avocados and is perfect for dipping at any party!

What ingredients do you need for Spicy Guacamole Dip?

  • Avocados
  • Cilantro
  • Tomato
  • Sweet Onion
  • Red Chili Pepper
  • Lime
  • Garlic Clove
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Salt

If you want to add EVEN more spice, add additional peppers. Serrano Peppers or Jalapenos can also be added.

Do you need to use a food processor?

If you want a smooth guacamole, use a food processor to blend the ingredients. If you would like a lightly chunky guacamole, use a potato masher to mash the ingredients in a bowl.

Tips for Making Spicy Guacamole Dip:

  • Choose the RIGHT Avocados! – The most important part of the dip is the avocados, so they must be chosen carefully. The avocados need to be ripe and soft, not mushy but if you apply pressure you should feel the softness of the avocado.
  • The HEAT is in your hands! – The heat can be controlled based on the ingredients used. If you prefer spicy add more peppers, if you want less spicy, omit the peppers. The majority of the heat is in the seeds of the peppers, the seeds can be removed based on your preference. When working with peppers, it’s always best to wear gloves.
  • Storage is key! – The guacamole can brown quickly, so it’s best to store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator or wrap it first with plastic wrap before storing.

How to store fresh guacamole?

Store the leftover dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Add fresh lime juice to slow the browning process too if preferred.

    To make this, use a food processor or you can also mix by hand using a potato masher.

Food Processor:

    Peel the avocados and put the flesh in the processor along with the cilantro and tomato.

    Add in the onion and then cut the top off the pepper and add in the whole pepper.

    Cut the lime in half and use the juice from ½ of the lime.

    Add in the crushed garlic clove, cayenne pepper, and salt.

    Blend it well until it’s a slightly smooth consistency.

    Serve immediately or chill in an airtight container until ready to serve.

Handheld Masher:

    In a large mixing bowl, add in the avocados and use a potato masher to lightly mash the avocados.

    Chop the cilantro and add to the bowl.

    Fold in the diced tomato and onion along with diced pepper.

    Mix well to combine, then add juice from 1/2 the lime over the mixture.
