How do you make this Quiche Recipe?

Follow the full recipe instructions in the recipe card below. The best size pie pan to use if you are forming your crust to the pan is about a 9-inch pie pan. Once your crust is prepped per the cooking time and instructions below, then it’s time to make the filling for the quiche.

Using a small saucepan or small skillet, the vegetables will be sautéed until nicely cooked. Then, in a medium bowl, the egg mixture will be whisk and created. It will then be combined with the remaining ingredients and cheese, and lastly, you will pour the egg mixture into your prepared crust. The quiche will be baked in the oven until nicely set. Again, follow the complete instructions in the recipe card below.

Tips for making the perfect Easy Spinach Quiche Recipe:

Easy Spinach Quiche (Gluten-Free Optional)

There are some things to remember when making quiche. One is that you want the crust to jiggle just a bit, which means it’s not overcooked. If it doesn’t have a little jiggle, then you have likely overcooked it. You can learn more about that with these mistakes to avoid when making quiche.

  • Drain the Spinach – Fully drain the spinach, especially when using frozen spinach, and squeeze out all the water; this way, the quiche is not soggy.
  • Crustless for Low-Carb – If you want to make this recipe low-carb, skip the crust and make it in a pie dish without crust.
  • Cool before Slicing – Let the quiche cool for about 5-10 minutes, and it should be served warm.
  • Whole Milk or Cream – Use whole milk or cream for the best texture.
  • Add Cooked Meat – Add in meat if you want to make this a meaty quiche.

Why do you blind-bake the gluten-free crust?

gluten free spinach quiche

Blind baking the crust simply means that you bake it for a bit before you add in the filling; this allows for the crust to get nice and crisp. This is sometimes called parbaked crust, too.

If you do not blind-bake the crust, the bottom will typically turn out soggy because so much of the filling has seeped into it.

When blind baking, it’s best to add dry beans or pie weights, weighing down the pie keeps the crust in shape and means it does not puff up or shrink. It’s very simple to blind bake, just be sure to follow each step and not skip or you may not have the same result.

Can you prepare a quiche in advance?

Easy Spinach Quiche (Gluten-Free Optional)

Quiche can be prepared in advance by adding the ingredients to the quiche and then covering it with plastic wrap and placing it in the fridge until ready to bake, or it can be fully baked and reheated before serving.

For best results, if you have fully cooked the quiche, place it in the oven at 200 degrees F and warm it up for about 15 minutes before serving.

How do you store leftover quiche?

Store the cooled leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days, or you can also freeze the quiche by covering it in plastic wrap and freezing it for up to 2 months. When ready to serve, reheat in the microwave or the oven at 200 degrees F for 15-20 minutes.
