Make it an easy dinner tonight with delicious steak paired with fresh vegetables to make this Creamy Beef and Peppers, naturally gluten-free too!

Are you ready for a great 30-minute meal? This Creamy Beef and Peppers is a go-to for lunch or dinner, plus it’s wonderful in the summer months with fresh vegetables.

This pairs wonderfully with Ninja Foodi Rice.

What steak should you use for Beef and Peppers?

Choosing the right steak is by far the most important part. It must be a thin-cut steak in order to be easy to chew when serving.

The best thin cuts are skirt steak, flank steak, or ribeye steak which has been very thinly sliced.

Each of these cuts of beef will provide a fantastic tender texture, making them ideal for this meal.

When cutting the steak, it’s very important to cut against the grain, this way the steak is not only easy to cut but also easy to chew.

Tips for Making Creamy Beef and Peppers:

This dish is naturally gluten-free, using cornstarch at the end of the recipe. Be sure as always to check all ingredients to be certain the ones you are using are gluten-free.

The only seasoning used is Steak Seasoning, we prefer to use Weber Steak n’ Chop Seasoning. This is by far my favorite! Of course, you can use any that you prefer or have on hand as well.

The entire dish is made in a skillet on the stovetop. Be sure to use a large-size skillet that gives you room to evenly place the steak in the skillet so that it is not stacked on top of each other.

Lastly, be sure to get creative. We use red and green bell peppers and onion for this, but you can always do a variety. If you want it spicy, add in a sliced Jalapeno straight from the garden.

It can also be topped with fresh parsley.

Steps

  1. 1

Slice the steak against the grain in thin strips.

  2. 2

Slice and remove the seeds of the peppers and onion.

  3. 3

Add the oil to a large skillet and warm up to medium-high heat.

  4. 4

Add in the steak and brown on all sides for about 3-5 minutes. Be careful because the oil will be hot.

  5. 5

Once the steak is mostly browned, add in the peppers and onion along with the crushed garlic. Evenly sprinkle on the steak seasoning. Continue cooking for about 5 minutes.

  6. 6

Carefully pour in the beef broth and let this simmer and cook on medium heat for 20 minutes. It's best if you add a lid to your skillet during this time.

  7. 7

Combine the water and cornstarch in a small dish and stir up until the cornstarch is dissolved, carefully pour the cornstarch into the skillet after the 20 minutes is up. Quickly stir up and let simmer for about a minute until it's fully dissolved. This forms a creamy, gravy texture over the steak.

  8. 8

Serve over cooked rice and add salt and pepper to taste if needed.
