One of our favorite ways to cook a pizza is grilled! Did you know you can grill pizza right on your backyard grill?

That’s right, you can! It’s so easy too and it gives such a great flavor to the pizza.

During the warmer months, this is a go-to for us on Friday nights. That’s typically our pizza night. The kids usually get involved and make their own pizza.

Can you make Gluten-Free Grilled Pizza?

The first thing you will want to do is prepare the pizza dough. If you need a great gluten-free crust we love this Gluten-Free Delivery Style Pizza Crust. Once it’s prepared, the dough will be rolled out on a baking sheet, one that is easy to move the dough from the sheet to the grill.

Remember if you do want to make this grilled pizza into a gluten-free grilled pizza, all you need to do is find your favorite pizza dough recipe and swap the flour with gluten-free all-purpose flour.

This is a great easy homemade pizza dough too, it can be made with regular flour or gluten-free flour.

The dough can be homemade or store-bought as well.

How do you make a Grilled Pizza?

When it’s time to grill the dough, it’s best to coat the grill grates with some vegetable oil. Once it’s cooked, carefully place the dough right on the grill.

After 2-3 minutes on medium-high heat, carefully flip the pizza dough over. Once it’s flipped over, that is when you will top it with the sauce and toppings along with cheese.

Then, it will need to be grilled with the lid shut for about 2-3 minutes.

Grilled Pizza gives a great fire-grilled taste to the pizza crust without using a wood fire oven.

What temperature should you grill pizza?

The grill should be on high heat at least 500 degrees, or medium-high heat.

This is such a great option especially if it gets very hot where you live as it does here, it’s much nicer to grill outside rather than heat up the house with the oven.

    Prepare the sauce and toppings and set aside.

    Roll out the pizza dough into a thin rectangle using a small dusting of extra flour so the dough does not stick. Place the dough on a large baking sheet.

    Coat the grates with vegetable oil using a folded paper towel.

    Heat the grill to medium-high heat.

    Slide the pizza dough onto the heated grates.

    Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the bottom is lightly browned.

    Flip the pizza over and brush with olive oil.

    Spread the sauce on top, along with the cheese, and toppings of your choice.

    Close the lid and grill for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and the toppings are lightly browned.
