Gluten-Free BBQ Chicken Pizza

Any Gluten-Free Pizza Crust can be used; however, I typically use King Arthur Gluten-Free Pizza Flour.

Alternatively, Wholly Gluten-Free has a great premade pizza dough that I have found regularly at Sprouts. Trader Joe’s also carries a Gluten-Free Pizza Dough that can be used as well.

The crust makes a difference with a good pizza, so it’s best to go with a high-quality gluten-free crust, which King Arthur Flour is known for, so when making it from scratch that is what I use.

The crust can be made completely from scratch too using gluten-free flour along with your favorite pizza crust recipe.

Tips for Making Gluten-Free BBQ Chicken Pizza:

Gluten-Free BBQ Chicken Pizza

Gluten-Free BBQ Chicken Pizza is simple to make following the recipe card instructions below and using a high-quality pizza crust.

It’s best to use fresh mozzarella cheese, but be sure to dry it out a bit with a paper towel before adding it to the pizza to release some of the water in the cheese. The BBQ sauce paired with the red onions and chicken will give the pizza a smoky flavor with a hint of sweetness.

The pizza can be cooked on a pizza pan, pizza stone, or on a baking sheet with parchment paper. The pizza will then bake in the oven until the crust is crispy and the cheese is melted and lightly browned. Once the pizza has cooled, add a garnish of dried parsley before serving.

This homemade pizza tastes wonderful and will be a nice change from a traditional pizza night!

How do you store leftover pizza?

Once the pizza has cooled, if you have an extra slice or two, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. When ready to serve, reheat the pizza in the oven at 375 degrees F for 5 minutes.

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven to 400°F.

  2. 2

The crust can be shaped on a sheet of parchment and placed on a baking sheet or on a pizza stone.

  4. 4

Bake the pizza dough 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.

  5. 5

Build the pizza spreading on the BBQ sauce on the crust. Top it with sliced onion and chicken. Add the sliced mozzarella on top.

  6. 6

Place the pizza back in the oven for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

  9. 9

Top with parsley, slice, and serve.
