Do you need to soak potatoes before making Crockpot Scalloped Potatoes?

Crockpot Scalloped Potatoes do not need to have the potatoes soaked first, they will have plenty of cooking time in the crockpot. This makes for an easy set-it-and-forget-it meal.

How do you make Gluten-Free Crockpot Scalloped Potatoes?

The only swap you need to make these gluten-free is to use gluten-free all-purpose flour, such as Better Batter. I prefer Better Batter, but you can use any gluten-free 1:1 flour of your choice to make this swap.

King Arthur Gluten-Free All-Purpose Flour and Bob’s Red Mill work wonderfully in this recipe too.

All remaining ingredients will be naturally gluten-free; however, as always check all ingredients before proceeding.

Can you make these in the Ninja Foodi?

The Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker does have a slow cooker option, so you can make these in your Ninja Foodi with the slow cooker function, or they can be made in the traditional slow cooker too.

This recipe can also be made in the Ninja Possible Cooker, which is their version of the slow cooker.

Tips for Making Crockpot Scalloped Potatoes:

When making scalloped potatoes there are a few important tips to keep in mind. First, be sure to choose the right potatoes. It’s best to use Russet Potatoes for this recipe.

Russet Potatoes will hold their shape because of the level of starch in the potatoes, this makes them ideal for slow cooking.

Use thin, even slices of potatoes so that they are as uniform as possible. This can be sliced by hand or with a mandoline to make even slices.

As mentioned before, the cheese makes the flavor of the dish, do not skimp on the cheese!

Serve the scalloped potatoes straight out of the Crockpot or slow cooker, making them easy to keep warm.

How do you store leftover scalloped potatoes?

Store the leftover potatoes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. When ready to reheat, place in a microwave-safe bowl or dish in the microwave for 1 minute, or place back in the slow cooker for 1-2 hours on warm or until heated through.

With their creamy, cheesy layers, these gluten-free crockpot scalloped potatoes are a true comfort food that everyone can enjoy. This recipe brings ease and flavor together, making it perfect for any holiday table!
