Make a quick, delicious hearty breakfast with Cheesy Sausage and Egg Hash!

This recipe for Cheesy Sausage and Egg Hash was inspired by a meal that my husband and I had while we were in Nashville many years ago. It has since been a favorite on a day when we are serving a hearty breakfast!

This is easy to customize to your personal taste and preference as well.

How do you make Cheesy Sausage & Egg Hash?

This recipe is made with Potatoes O’Brien, if you use a frozen bag that already has the green and red peppers, you can omit those from the recipe.

It can also be done with small, cubed, and peeled potatoes too.

Another option is to use turkey sausage instead of pork sausage, this is also up to you and your preference.

It’s easy to customize this dish into your own personal favorite hash, even additional vegetables can be added too.

This will take a few skillets to make as you will want to brown the sausage first, then use a second skillet to warm up the potatoes. If you use a large enough skillet, you can use the same skillet to cook the potatoes after the sausage is cooked.

Can you make Cheesy Sausage and Egg Hash into a Spicy dish?

If you want to add some spice to this dish, you can serve it with hot sauce or add a little in when cooking too.

What should you serve this breakfast with?

This meal is plenty as is and full of protein, but if you want something to pair with it, this recipe for Air Fryer Biscuits is a great option or you can serve it with a slice of toast too.

While this is simmering in a cleaned medium-sized skillet, spray it with nonstick spray and add enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan. Heat the oil in the pan up to medium heat.

Then, crack an egg and cook on both sides until it's slightly browned and fried. (about 2-3 minutes). Do this for all eggs.

  5. 5

When the potatoes and sausage crumble are cooked through, add a portion to each plate, then top with a slice of cheese and egg.
