20 Summer Dessert Recipes
I’ll admit during the summer months, we enjoy dessert much more than we do during the year. I almost always make something on the weekends, mostly because we have guests over or a cookout and it is just necessary.
I typically choose from these Summer Dessert Recipes.
This year I’m eyeing this Strawberry Peach Cobbler, served with homemade cream. Doesn’t that sound amazing?
When we aren’t having an actual dessert, I always keep our freezer stocked with some frozen treats. This is the season, that doesn’t happen as much during the rest of the year.
What can I say though, about taking a swim and enjoying a frozen dessert after just going together?
I’m anxious for it to get a little warmer though so the pool isn’t quite so chilly. Remind of that in July though when I’m complaining because it’s so hot!
Can you make these summer desserts gluten-free?
Almost all of these desserts can be made gluten-free; however, be sure to check out this post with 25 Gluten-Free Desserts for specific ones. I always indicate the gluten-free alternative when writing the recipe.
For those that use flour, we typically use Better Batter or King Arthur Gluten-Free All-Purpose Flour.
In the meantime you must try out some of the dessert recipes below, I have a feeling you’ll quickly fall in love with some.
Tips for Making Summer Desserts:
The first thing to keep in mind when choosing which dessert to make is where are you planning to store it.
If you are making an ice cream cake when it’s 100+ outside and you have no freezer to place it in…well that won’t go over well.
It would be better to make some sort of pie, cake, or maybe even cookies to take to your party. Be sure to keep this in mind.
Some of these recipes can be made in advance and others cannot so be sure to read through the recipe carefully before choosing a dessert to try.
Remember to read each recipe carefully if you need it to be made gluten-free as that will be instructed in the recipe.
