As we head into the heat of summer, my slow cooker kicks up into high gear. It’s simply too hot to turn on the oven and stove. I thought I would share today these 10 Summer Slow Cooker Recipes with you to get those ideas going.
Do you have some tried and true slow cooker recipes? I have a few that are regulars on our menu, especially during the summer months. It’s just so hot in Oklahoma. Is it hot where you are? This is that time of year where I start to question why exactly we live here?
We basically live at the lake part of the summer or at least on the weekends and even though I despise lake water, it’s so hot you have to get in. I just like to avoid thinking about what is lurking beneath me. I prefer to just stay in the boat, which is totally doable in the spring and fall, but the summer is a whole other issue. The boat suddenly because like an oven when it’s sitting. How do you stay cool in the summer heat? A pool in our backyard sure sounds nice too!
In the midst of the heat plus all the summer activities, dinner still has to be done. I really love using my slow cooker during the summer because then I am not in a hurry to rush home from activities to get dinner made. We can stay at the pool or splash pad and come home to dinner being all ready for us.
