Our Garden is Planted
Last week I posted an update on the great flood, this week our garden is replanted and growing!
I am actually somewhat glad that our garden flooded because it allowed us to rethink our plans and start over. We ended up purchasing several plants. We purchased pepper plants, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, and lettuce. We also have beans and corn growing as well.
I think the plants are nice to see because the start of growth is already there, so the garden looks full!
We are also doing container gardening for the plants that did not fit in the garden bed. I am trying Leeks as well. I have never planted those before, so I am anxious to see how they turn out. I love using Leeks in meals so I hope they grow well, and I can cook with them this year.
Now we will be doing a lot of watering, here in Oklahoma you become one with the hose. Last year temps in the summer hit nearly 120*! I am fairly certain, should that happen again we will be sitting there in a chair with a hose 24/7!
It’s time wait, water, and watch for growth!
Oh and did I mention we grow bunnies too? I sure hope this one doesn’t eat all my lettuce!
What have you planted so far?!
Enjoy your Easter weekend!
