Have you heard of Amanda Rettke from I Am Baker? She is a cake extraordinaire! She just released a cookbook that is all things cake and even better it’s “Surprise-Inside Cakes“. Several of the cakes I have attempted for my own family, I have used her step by step techniques to accomplish them.
She makes each cake look absolutely beautiful and seem so easy to make. Of course, mine come nowhere near as beautiful as her’s, but if I can’t have her here in my kitchen, the next best thing? Her book!
This cake above is my absolute favorite. I was inspired by it to do my daughter’s cake for her birthday. It’s simple, beautiful, and elegant.
This has quickly become one of my favorite books and I’m inspired by it to try a cake out for my son’s birthday this summer. I can’t wait to surprise them with a treat inside the cake.
