From Above the World of Cars Flies Disney Planes

My favorite day of the week is Friday, why? Family Movie Night! We have a family movie night at least 2-3 times a month on Friday nights; however, sometimes it gets moved to Saturday, but we always have them. I absolutely love it. I love being able to unplug from the rest of the world and enjoy time with my son and husband.

Generally, we let my son pick out a movie of his choice then after he goes to bed my husband and I have a movie night too. We made it a point to continue movie nights with our son after our baby girl was born because we wanted to be sure we were having quality time with him.

This past week we were able to get a copy of the latest movie from Disney, Planes. We actually saw it in the theater too and knew that we would eventually be owning that one.

Planes is all about having the courage to succeed even when circumstances out of your control may make you believe that you cannot. My husband and I daily remind my son to have courage and to be brave. Personally, my husband is a walking example of courage and it makes me happy to know that my son gets to watch him and look up to him as his example.

Once we had our movie in place, it was time to plan out the food. I love to do themed foods for our movie nights and it is especially easy with kids food. I used a simple plane cookie cutter then I just made shaped food.

We had plane shaped PB&J, pineapple slices, and cheese. My son was so excited to see all the Plane shaped food that we ended up having movie night a little bit earlier than planned because he simply could not wait!

The next hit of the evening were the Mallow Popcorn Balls. These were AMAZING! I have never been very successful at popcorn balls, but I learned that as long as your hands are greased well then they are really easy to make.

I decided to put them on sticks so that they would not be as messy to eat. Then, I placed them in checkered flag cupcake liners and drizzled orange icing on top. They were the prized treat of our movie night and kid approved by my popcorn loving son!

I was even able to pick up these Planes cups at Walmart too!

Our night was spent enjoying time together, learning about Courage watching Planes, and eating some delicious plane inspired food!
