Champions for Kids Disney Stocking

A few week’s back, I mentioned that I teamed up with Champions for Kids this holiday season to promote giving back. As part of this partnership, I had a mission to stuff a stocking with Disney products and donate for a special boy or girl this holiday season.
I decided to stuff the stocking to support my local church toy drive. The toy drive at our church focuses first on those families within the church that need an extra blessing this year, then all the toys that are donated beyond that are given to a local community charity.
For this campaign with Champions for Kids, I decided to shop for a girl to stuff the stocking for. I have all boys primarily to shop for and I just could not wait to shop for some girl items. I headed off to Walmart in search of Disney products to fill the stocking. I was really surprised by how many Disney products Walmart carries. It seemed like on every aisle that I turned I found more Disney.
I first stopped by my son’s favorite aisle, Cars! I went through to see what new items they had as well as swinging by the Toy Story products.
I was still searching though for the girl’s Disney products and then I saw a row of Disney Princesses and I knew I was in the right spot!
I ended up being drawn to all the Tinkerbell items.
Primarily excited about these little green fairy slippers. I wanted a pair too!
These were the inspiration for the entire stocking; although, then I thought I may be going a little bit bigger than a stocking. That was okay though, I could not resist, I knew I would figure out a way to make it work in the stocking. Then, I got to thinking what would a fairy princess be without her entire outfit and wand? I had to purchase those too, plus a Tinkerbell doll.
Look there, I made it work! I stuffed the stocking with the wand and doll and attached the fairy princess outfit to it. I even found a Tinkerbell stocking! If I were a little girl I would love these, I mean I secretly, or not so secretly, would love it now.
I enjoyed shopping for this special little girl whoever she may be, but come Christmas morning I know she’ll have a smile on her face as she gets to transform herself into the world of make believe as Tinkerbell the Fairy Princess. That is what Christmas is all about.
How do you like to give back during the holidays? What ways do you try to give back throughout the year as well?
